Bold claim: AI-powered cameras are redefining video analytics, and Axis is delivering the tools to prove it. Axis Communications has introduced a fresh wave of AI-enabled network solutions, pairing thermal and visual capability in a single PTZ device with high-analytics bullets that push edge processing further than before.
Over the last few weeks, Axis has expanded its camera lineup with several notable releases. The standout is an all-in-one bi-spectral camera that combines dual thermal and visual surveillance in one PTZ unit, along with four advanced AI-driven bullet cameras designed to deliver superior image quality and detailed forensic data.
These new IP cameras run on ARTPEC-9, Axis’s latest system-on-chip, which the company says accelerates performance and enables powerful analytics to run at the edge. A key feature is AXIS Object Analytics, preinstalled to detect, classify, track, and count humans and vehicles, including different vehicle types.
Security-minded buyers can also rely on Axis Edge Vault, a hardware-based cybersecurity platform. It provides secure key storage and operation certified to FIPS 140-3 Level 3, helping protect devices against tampering and unauthorized access.
AXIS Q6411-LE Bispectral PTZ
The AXIS Q6411-LE Bispectral PTZ combines thermal detection with visual verification. It supports the AV1 codec and offers accelerated performance to boost situational awareness. Beyond AXIS Object Analytics, it works with AXIS Perimeter Defender to strengthen area detection using thermal data, and it includes an orientation aid and an auto-tracking feature with click-and-track capabilities.

The four new bullet cameras are designed for excellent image quality and forensic detail in challenging environments. The AXIS P1475-LE and AXIS P1485-LE provide 2 MP resolution, while the AXIS P1487-LE and AXIS P1488-LE offer 5 MP and 8 MP, respectively. The AXIS P1488-LE features a large 1/1.2-inch sensor to maintain strong performance in low light. Features like OptimizedIR help with night surveillance, and Axis Zipstream significantly reduces bandwidth and storage needs without sacrificing quality, delivering clear advantages in cost and efficiency.
